Theme-Based Book Club (4th - 6th Grade)

During the school year we will host a monthly meeting for 4th, 5th, and 6th graders to discuss books, craft (if they want), and enjoy snacks! Meetings will take place at 4 PM on the first Tuesday of the month in the Storytime Room at the library. This book club is different from traditional book clubs - the reader can choose what book to read!

Theme-based book clubs do not ask the reader to read a book that does not interest him/her. Instead, we will pick a theme each month and anyone who wants to join us can choose a book that they think fits the theme! These books can be any genre (including non-fiction!) or format (ebook, audiobook, graphic novel, etc.).

Please bring the book with you to the meeting!

This month's theme:

April Theme Graphic Novels for Tween Theme Book Club

Need some inspiration for this theme? Try these!

Graphic Novels are a fun escape from all text books. They help people who struggle with reading gain confidence and can even help you learn how to read a new language! Check out some of the Junior Fiction and Tween graphic novels that could work for next month's meeting. We highly recommend that you click on the link to see some of the covers*:

*Not all of these books are available at the Howard Miller Library. Please check if the book is at the library and place a hold on it if it is not. It usually takes 1-2 weeks for a hold to get to the library.
