The Abandoned Bride Documentary
Thursday, July 18, 2019
Travelling Moon Productions presents The Abandoned Bride. An incredible true story straight out of a favorite novel!
Twenty years after their grandfather Del Havens died, granddaughters Deb Havens and Lynette Doele discovered a stunning family secret: a box of pictures and post cards from his post-World War I service in Europe. Inscriptions written in German on some of the photos were penned from a mysterious woman, Dora Gallner, claiming to be Del’s abandoned bride. The two sisters traveled to Germany, Austria and Switzerland to search for Dora and uncovered her shocking, tragic story.
This event is sponsored by Genealogy Study Group, Howard Miller Public Library, and Zeeland Historical Society.
Free admission and light refreshments will be served.
