  2. Kalamazoo Air Zoo presents "Fly Me to the Moon!"

    This event is for children entering 1st-5th grade. Registration starts Monday, July 8th. There are limited spaces available so registration is required. You can register in person at the library or over the phone! Call (616)772-0874 and use extension 4. Registration by phone can only be done during regular library hours. Up, up, and away! Celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first Apollo mission to land on the Moon in the Summer of 1969, with the Kalamazoo Air Zoo! Investigate how gravity keeps the Moon in orbit around the Earth and what it takes to escape Earth’s gravity to get to the Moon. Experience the creation of Moon craters and the challenges involved in landing safely on the varied surface of the Moon. Learn about current and future missions to other moons and planets in our solar system.
