Police Department
The Zeeland Police Department is a full service agency. The department provides many services to the residents including: road patrol, criminal investigation, traffic control, citizen assistance, T.E.A.M. and other related activities. We are proud of our long tradition of service to the citizens and visitors of the City of Zeeland.

Staff DirectoryPatrol & Investigation
The Zeeland Police Department provides patrol/investigative services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. All officers are augmented by the Ottawa County Sheriffs Office and Michigan State Police Grand Haven Post. All officers are dispatched through the Ottawa County Central Dispatch.
Home or Business on Vacation
As a service to the community we offer all residents and business owners within the city limits this program. We encourage residents to notify the police department of the time period your residence will be unattended.
Necessary Information for Police
Fill out the following form with your name, address and phone number as well as the name, address and phone number of an emergency contact should anything occur at your residence in your absence. Officers will periodically check your property.
If you are a business owner we ask you to fill out a “key-holder” form which provides officers with the name, address, and phone number of the business as well as the name, address and phone numbers of the building owner and any key-holding employees of the business. This information assists officers should they be called to the business for any after hours emergency.
Report A Crime
To reach an officer in an emergency situation call 911. If you need to reach an officer in a non-emergency situation contact 1-800-249-0911.
Silent Observer
Employment and Internships
We offer limited internships to college students residing in our area. These internships are limited to one student per college or university. Permission must be obtained from the school, chief of police and parents, if the student is under 18.
Students are required to sign a waiver, submit a background check and are interviewed by an officer. Students involved in this internship are allowed to “shadow” officers on various assignments. Students interested in an internship with the Zeeland Police Department should apply as soon as possible due to limited openings. You can stop in, email, or call us for further information.
Tours
Police Department Tours
The Zeeland Police Department welcomes anyone from the public to tour our facility which was built in 2003. We ask that you arrange this tour by calling the Police Department administrative office. Presentations are available to classes or groups.
