About the Role
We are seeking dedicated, community‑minded individuals to join our team as Paid On‑Call Firefighters. This position plays a vital role in protecting life, property, and the environment by responding to fire, medical, and emergency incidents as they occur. Paid On‑Call Firefighters provide essential support to our department and receive compensation for training, call responses, and standby hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to fire, rescue, medical, and other emergency calls as dispatched
• Perform firefighting duties including fire suppression, ventilation, and salvage
• Assist with emergency medical care and patient support until EMS arrival
• Participate in regular training, drills, and certifications
• Operate and maintain firefighting tools, equipment, and apparatus
• Support fire prevention, public education, and community outreach activities
• Maintain physical readiness and follow all safety protocols

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• High school diploma or GED
• Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record
• Ability to meet physical, medical, and training requirements
• Willingness to respond to calls at any time, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Must carry assigned pager at all times
• Must live within a reasonable distance from the first station
• Ability to attend scheduled trainings (typically evenings and/or weekends)

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior fire service, EMS, or public safety experience
• Certified Firefighter I/II
• EMR, EMT, or paramedic certifications

Physical Requirements
This role involves physically demanding tasks such as lifting, climbing, wearing heavy protective gear, and operating in extreme environments. Applicants must successfully complete a physical agility test and medical evaluation.
